Collaborations

Olmo Gómez Aldaz’s experience connects him with associations and collectives of adopted people and victims of child abduction, as well as with organisations working on human rights and historical memory.

This section brings together his membership of these organisations and the main milestones of ongoing collaborations: testimonies, initiatives defending rights relating to original parentage and identity, and participation in public events. Each relationship has its own history, presented here alongside the available documents and materials.

Membership of associations and collectives

Olmo Gómez Aldaz is a member of the following associations and collectives:

  • Plataforma de Víctimas de la Asociación María Madre de Bilbao. His membership is directly connected to his own abduction and illegal adoption. His documentary research into this network can be explored in the report on the Asociación María Madre de Bilbao and the reconstruction of AdoptadosBilbao, a digital record of victims and their families.

  • Asociación La Voz de los Adoptados. A space for meeting, exchange and support that centres the experiences of adopted people themselves, including both domestic and international adoption. Olmo belongs to this association, which helps these experiences have a voice of their own in society.

  • Colectivo Sin Identidad. An association of people affected by the disappearance of relatives and illegal adoption, of which Olmo is also a member. Its initiatives include collaboration with the University of La Laguna to investigate child disappearances through archival documentation.

  • AMALUR — Asociación de Bebés Robados de Navarra. An association connected with people affected by baby abduction and the search for their original families in Navarre. Olmo joined AMALUR when he took part in the testimony panel held at the Parliament of Navarre on 30 October 2026, in which Fanny Erro and Beatriz Mahave Salcedo also participated as representatives of the association.

FIBGAR — Baltasar Garzón International Foundation

The collaboration began in July 2026 through Nadia Gayoso de la Calle, head of FIBGAR’s democratic memory area. It led to the interview in which Olmo describes his abduction at birth, the adoption that concealed what happened and the process of recovering his original identity. The testimony was published on the Foundation’s official channel on 26 October 2026.

The relationship extended to support for the complaint to the Spanish Ombudsman about discrimination against adopted people and “stolen babies”. FIBGAR formally endorsed it, and this support was publicised through a press release. The page about this ongoing collaboration brings together the testimony, its context and the main milestones.

International conference · Navarre and Argentina

From 28 to 30 October 2026, the Public University of Navarre and the Parliament of Navarre organised a conference in Pamplona on child abduction and enforced disappearance under dictatorial regimes. The event brought the Spanish and Argentine experiences into dialogue through historical, legal, institutional and testimony sessions.

Olmo took part in the victims’ testimony panel on 30 October, alongside AMALUR representatives and other people affected. His contribution brought the experience of the judicial recovery of his original parentage and his official recognition as a victim of Francoism. The page explains the event, how he came to participate and who took part in the panel, and includes its official recording.
